Coach Chris Sander and Assistant Coach Adam Linville!
The Timberland Wolves Hockey Board is excited to announce our NEW Head Coach for the upcoming 2023-2024 hockey season, Coach Chris Sander
Coach Sander has been involved in hockey for over 30 years. His love for the game and his passion for coaching is what keeps him pushing into the higher ranks of the game. Coach Sander is a driven and accomplished hockey coach with a proven track record of developing and assisting players to perform at their highest level of potential in the game of hockey. He is a seasoned hockey player himself, and he brings forth passion and first-hand experience in excelling as an athlete. Coach Sander is adept in further developing athletes to enhance their performance skills and game techniques. He is proficient in guiding players as they enhance existing competencies and grow more self-confidence through practice and commitment.
His Philosophy
As a coach, the number one priority is development. You must constantly be developing your players, not just as players on the ice, but as people off the ice. Nothing bothers me more than when I see coaches failing to develop players. Every single player can contribute if he or she is coached properly and put in a position to succeed. People that know me, know that I am fiercely competitive and that I hate losing more than I like winning, but that is secondary when it comes to coaching. A coach must always be finding ways to INSPIRE his players, not motivate them. Motivation is fleeting. Inspiration is long-lasting. A good coach can get his players to sacrifice for the TEAM and at the same time, get an individual player to accomplish more than what they thought they were capable of.
"I love coaching and the process of it. It's something very special when you connect with a player and see them achieve more than they thought possible and help them realize that the harder you work for something, the greater the reward when you achieve it."
-C. Sander
and our NEW Assistant Coach for the 2023-2024 season,
Coach Adam Linville.
Coach Linville has been involved with hockey for over 30 years, and during that time, has developed a passion for coaching and development of players. He believes hockey is far more than a sport; it is a family and a passion.
His Philosophy
Regardless of the skill level, work harder than you did the day before, have fun, don't lose your passion for the game and be a good sportsman!
Coach Linville has a few quotes he uses often with his players,
"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."
-Tim Notke
"It's not about being better than someone else, it's about being better than you were the day before." - Author Unknown
"There is nothing more fulfilling to a coach than watching the kids we are working with achieve their aspirations." - Adam Linville
